Great black and white photographers, PART 2

Minor White was an American photographer known for his prints of landscapes, architecture, and men. Born on July 9, 1908 in Minneapolis, minnesota. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota. then moved to Portland, OR in 1938. He joined a camera club and later took on photo assignments from the WPA. minor served in the military during World War II. He had studied art history at Columbia University in New York.  Over the following decades, the artist spent a great deal of his life teaching in academic institutions, including one  in San Francisco at the burgeoning photography departments of the California School of Fine Arts and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. White died in Boston,Massachusetts on June 24, 1976. Today, his photographs are held in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art in New York and also the National Gallery in Washington, D.C..
